How To Balance School and Dance

As young dancers, school is still a part of our life. You'll want to learn to find that balance between the two by finding a system that works.

Realizing now that your schedule is going to feel overwhelming at times.

Make sure you are prioritizing things correctly. Each day - week - is going to be different depending on what you have going on. So, be careful not to overwhelm yourself with too many plans.

Find the best way to keep track of what’s going on.

The best way to do this is with a scheduler. Whether that’s on your phone calendar or something physical like a planner. It gives you a visual of what you’ll be doing throughout the week.

Plan everything you need ahead of time.

Once you know what your schedule looks like, you’ll allow yourself to be more organized. You’ll know when you have free time and gives you a chance to prepare for your day the night before.

Give yourself time to breathe.

With an overwhelming schedule, you'll need to make sure you have time to go out with friends or for yourself. It’ll help you feel grounded.

Everything will start to feel like part of your normal schedule. The best thing to do is not to let yourself feel overwhelmed. Then you’ll start to find a healthy school and dance life balance.
