I ordered this on a whim. I wasn't sure by looking at the picture what made it a "ballet mat" as opposed to just a regular exercise mat. I read a review on another website from someone whose daughter actually danced on it so upon receiving it, I attempted to do a few tendus on it hoping it might make an alternative to the overpriced Dot to Dance (I have a Harlequin dance mat but it can be a pain to pull out when you don't have much time). My toes actually put a hole in it. I should have known better considering it felt like a slightly thicker version of the material used to line kitchen cabinets. However, I have since used it for pilates and strengthening exercises. It's just fine for those activities, but considering it's called a "ballet mat" I was hoping its uses would be a little more specific.
